More Than a Number

Yes, GPA and (sometimes) test scores matter, but what else do colleges consider when looking at applications? The college admission process is different for our kids than when we applied to college--and there are more applications being submitted than ever before. We'll go beyond the numbers to talk about how a student can plan ahead, stand out, and tell their own unique story as they apply to college.

Melissa Dick, Class 101 Franklin College Planner

Melissa brings her journalistic, public relations, and marketing experience to the high school students that she works with at Class 101, helping them craft the narrative about themselves they want to share with colleges. A graduate of Belmont University, she and husband Bill have two sons--a junior at Davidson College in Davidson, NC, double majoring in communications and educational studies, and a sophomore at FCA.
